If earrings are worn:

If a child cannot remove their earrings, they must be covered with hypoallergenic tape provided by parents.
If you are planning to have your child’s ears pierced, the summer holidays is the best time so they can be removed when school resumes in September.
Make-up and Body Adornments
To maintain high standards of presentation, the school discourages:
- Make-up
- Nail varnish
- Temporary tattoos
- Hair colouring
Hairstyles
Children should have appropriate hairstyles suitable for school.
- Long hair should be tied back for safety and hygiene reasons
- Overly decorative hair accessories are not appropriate
- Shaved patterns in hair should not be worn during term time
Equality and Discrimination
When developing this policy, the school has considered its responsibilities under equality legislation. We ensure that our uniform expectations do not discriminate unlawfully on the grounds of:
- Sex
- Race
- Disability
- Religion or belief
- Sexual orientation
If families feel the policy may impact them for cultural, religious or other reasons, they should contact the Headteacher to discuss this.
Non-Compliance with School Uniform
If a pupil attends school without the correct uniform and no reason is provided:
- Parents may receive a uniform reminder slip.
- If the issue continues, parents may be invited into school to discuss the matter further.
Changes to This Policy
The Governing Body will consult with parents and carers before making any changes to the school uniform policy. If changes are made, appropriate notice and implementation timescales will be provided.
