Wraparound Childcare

Breakfast Club

We are pleased to offer a Breakfast Club provision to support families and ensure that children have a positive and settled start to the school day.

An early childcare session is available from 7:45am to 8:30am. The cost for this session is £3 per child, per day. Payments should be made in advance for each half term, and we kindly ask that these are paid during the first week back of the new half term. All payments can be made easily through the School Gateway online payment system.

From 8:30am to 8:45am, the school runs the free Welsh Government Breakfast Club, which is available to all pupils.

During Breakfast Club, children are offered a light breakfast including toast and fruit, with water available to drink. Pupils can enjoy a relaxed and friendly start to the day, with a range of quiet activities such as board games, drawing and occasional morning films available before the start of the school day.

The cost of the early breakfast childcare provision is reviewed periodically to ensure we can continue to offer a high-quality service for families.

After-school Club

Our After School Club is run by Whitford Playgroup and Wraparound Childcare and provides a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for children at the end of the school day.

The club takes place in the school hall from Monday to Friday, 3:15pm – 5:15pm, offering families flexible childcare after school. Children have the opportunity to relax and socialise with friends while taking part in a range of fun and engaging activities, such as games, drawing, crafts and quiet play.

Sessions are very popular, so we kindly ask that parents book places as early as possible. The latest booking deadline is 24 hours before the session begins, to allow us to organise staffing and ensure the provision runs safely.

If you have booked a session but your child is unable to attend, please inform us in writing via School Comms or by email at least 24 hours in advance. If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the session will still be charged.

If a two-hour session (3:15pm – 5:15pm) has been booked and your child is collected earlier, the full two-hour session fee will still apply. Parents will be asked to complete a data form and sign an After School Club agreement before their child or children can attend the sessions.

The safety and wellbeing of all children attending the club is extremely important to us. Safeguarding and health and safety remain our highest priorities, and advance bookings help us ensure that appropriate staffing levels are in place.

From 1 April 2025, the cost of After School Club is £5.50 per pupil, per hour.

We are proud to offer this provision as part of our wider support for families, providing a safe, friendly and enjoyable end to the school day for pupils at Ysgol y Llan
