Good evening! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Wow, February 1st tomorrow! Only 2 more weeks until the end of this half term.

Just a quick message that Urdd Choir club now takes place every Monday at lunch-time. Due to this, Chess club will now take place on a Friday during lunch-time.

I hope that you were able to read the Newsletter sent out this month. Everyone received a hard copy (paper) but it is also available online via our new website, Twitter and through email. The email delivery report suggests that only 54 emails received the Newsletter, so can I ask you once again to ensure that we have up-to-date phone numbers and emails in school.

This week, there will be an important survey coming out regarding the free breakfast club that is currently funded by the Welsh Government and immanent changes. It is very important that we receive your feedback, so please keep a look out!

A reminder that Mrs Owen will not be in the office tomorrow (Monday 1st February) due to her attended a First Aid course. If possible, please could all non-urgent office enquiries wait until Tuesday?

Many thanks for your continued support and have a wonderful week.

Mr Griffiths

Good afternoon everyone!

The end of yet another busy week. Just a very big thank you to the children for persevering this week and trying to keep their cloakrooms tidy - Gwych!!! The Golden Dustpan Award went to Dosbarth 1 this week but all classes have made a real effort.

This week, we had a Governor in school participating in a 'Learning Walk'. Mrs Thomas (Foundation Governor) visited each class to see what work they were doing and to have a chat to the children. Mrs Thomas was very complimentary on all classes, their behaviour and their work. She thoroughly enjoyed her morning with us and will feed back to the full Governors next week. We will now be holding a Governors 'Learning Walk' every half term so that school Governors get to see the good work that goes on everyday in school.

Da iawn Dosbarth 4 who gained a treat for receiving the most C'mon Cymraeg tokens last term. They enjoyed their well deserved Golden Time this afternoon. Well done for the best Class attendance this week also - display that trophy with pride! :-)

Have a lovely weekend everyone and please check the lost property early next week as there are lots of hats, gloves and scarves that have appeared!

Diolch!

Mr Griffiths

Good evening all.

An exciting start to the week for class 3 as they begin their outdoor learning with Mrs Davies. Children demonstrated trust and perseverance today as they guided each other around a simple outdoor obstacle course before continuing with their outdoor activities (take a look at Twitter).

A reminder that junior pupils will be swimming every Tuesday this half term and will need their swimming kit tomorrow. Swimming is part of the Curriculum and is therefore statutory unless children are ill and unable to participate. It is important that all children learn this life skill and we encourage all parents to continue to build on this skill outside of school hours. The children will be leaving school at about 10.30 am and will hopefully be able to visit Holywell library before their swimming session.

It's cold outside!!! We are currently experiencing some spells of bad weather so it is probably a good idea to run through the arrangements for closure. You can follow this link http://www.flintshire.gov.uk/en/Resident/Schools/SchoolClosures.aspx that will give you access to the Flintshire website and all school closures. There is also an option to register for email updates.  In addition to this site you can see information on our twitter feed any current news will appear on the scrolling text at the TOP of the home page. Please take care walking to school during icy conditions - Mrs Jenkinson works very hard to ensure the driveway is gritted but there is a large area to cover.

Finally, I hope that you find this website useful. We will continue to add anything that we feel useful but please let us know if you would like to see something specific.

Thank you for your continued support. See you all tomorrow!

Mr Griffiths

As this is my very first blog ever, I shall keep it short!

Welcome to our NEW school website! We have listened to you all and 63% of you would like a school website to access school information. Here it is! We hope that it provides you with the necessary information. Do not hesitate to contact the school office if you require further information.

From the parental questionnaire that went out during the Autumn term 2015, 58% of parents requested that we do not lose the valuable and frequent information that Twitter provides. Due to those 58% of you that are extremely happy with our Twitter feed, we intend on continuing this service. Actually, we are happy to announce that each class will now have an individual Twitter feed (due to 43% of parents wanting this service) in addition to the main school feed.

Thank you for your continued support and constructive feedback.
